Job Responsibilities for ODEPC Recruitment:
Driver Heavy Duty Responsibilities:
- Continuous learning to ensure that quality is provided to customers.
- Maneuver heavy machinery and specialized units in tight positions during operations and stowage in vessels and yards.
- Ensure secure and precise handling of machinery to prevent damage and misuse.
- Conduct thorough equipment inspections before and after operation to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Identify and mitigate risks during transport to ensure cargo security.
- Handle military and commercial units used in operations at airports, industrial sites, and other specialized units handled in Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) operations.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to heavy vehicle operation.
- Utilize advanced driving skills to manage challenging routes & versatile machinery.
- Communicate effectively with the operations team to coordinate safe operations & transportation of the commodities.
Operator Winch Crane's Responsibilities:
- Select loads or materials according to weight, tonnage, and size specifications and operate winches for loading and unloading cargo.
- To operate the winch on the vessel correctly and most safely in compliance with DP World safety standards.
- Operate the winch with proper care and handling of cargo to avoid accidents and damage to the cargo.
- To ensure the winch does not exceed the safe working capacity of the vessel equipment.
- To signal and assist other workers during LOLO and RORO operations in a safe manner.
- To observe equipment gauges and indicators and hand signals of other workers to verify load positions and depths
- To assist port handling and stevedoring therefore contributing to the smooth functioning of port operations.

Heavy Operator GC Responsibilities:
- To handle port equipment while carrying out duties safely and carefully.
- Transport cargo using forklift trucks/payloaders safely and carefully within the shed, yard, and quayside.
- Ensure the Forklift truck / Payloader is always in good condition and report any faults or damages immediately to the supervisor.
- To pre-check equipment before operating thus always following Port safety procedures.
- To handle empty and loaded containers for loading and discharging promptly and efficiently.
- 6) Before operating machinery, ensure the area is clear of pedestrians or obstacles for safety purposes.
- Take special care when handling containers containing dangerous cargo in compliance with the safety procedures.
- Ensure mechanical/electrical defects to the allotted machinery are rectified to avoid wastage in time and cost.
Tally Clerk Responsibilities:
- Responsible for safety, environment, and discipline in the work area.
- Check for work area allocation in the Operations Work Schedule
- Essel side Tally.
- Receive a copy of the manifest summary from the Vessel Foreman before commencement of vessel operations.
- Notify the presence of ‘Nil’ marks cargo to the Vessel Foreman and ensure an ‘authorization’ is provided by the agent before discharging the cargo.
- Count total cargo being discharged from the vessel and prepare a ‘receiving tally sheet’. Make appropriate remarks on the tally sheet regarding any damage to the cargo.
- Count the total cargo being loaded onto the vessel and prepare the ‘load tally sheet’.
- Maintain a constant track of every move during the discharge/loading of bagged cargo.
- Exchange the tally sheets with the agent’s tally clerk. The agent’s tally clerk is usually present during direct delivery.
- Exchange receive/load tally sheets with the agent tally sheets after completion of each sheet. The agent should prepare and submit D/D tally sheets to the shed office for processing gate passes.
- Include a remark on the tally sheet; ‘No agent representative available’ in case the agent.
- Has not deployed any tally clerks Receive details from the Vessel Foreman about the exact cause of faults and delays that occurred during vessel operations. Note the same, along with the duration of delay in the “Fault and Delay sheet’.
- Obtain acknowledgment of the fault and delay sheet from the agent representative post-vessel operations.
- Forward the documents to the Shed Documentation Clerk Yard / Shed tally.
- Receive instructions and work allocation from the Shed Documentation Clerk.
- Monitor cargo movement to and from the yard/shed on 3 types of movement – receipt from the vessel, issue to the vessel, and delivery to the consignee.
- Count the cargo received from the vessel in the yard/shed after completion of vessel operations and prepare the ‘receive tally sheet’.
- Submit the documents to the shed office for further processing.
- Coordinate with the forklift operators to assist in categorizing the cargo in the storage area according to the ‘marks’.
- Monitor the movement of cargo while it is issued to a vessel for export, using the ‘receive / issue tally sheet’ and record the same.
- Monitor the cargo during delivery of the cargo to the consignee and prepare a ‘Delivery sheet’.
- Prepare a ‘delivery sheet’ for each truck for the purpose of the ‘gate pass’ to be prepared by the Shed Documentation Clerk.
- Forward the sheets to the Shed Documentation Clerk.
